I will be e-mailing you shortly! (Sorry I still can't figure out how to get the random.org thingy on my blog)

If you guys enjoyed that giveaway maybe you should come back, I dunno, around Monday or so and see what I've got going on *wink wink* (hint hint)!!!!!!
But enough with that! I finally got some pics taken of my FINISHED NIGHTSHADE QUILT! YAY!!!!! You wanna see it? I know ya do!

Here it is in all it's crumpled glory!!!
And here is the back!
I've got some non crumpled pics, hang on!
I know the pics are a little blury, but I think if you click on them it will take you to my Flickr photostream where you can see them a bit better. All I have to take pics with right now is my iphone...until Christmas that is!!! :)
I just love it!
Here is an up close of the quilting. After I had to spend HOURS beyond HOURS ripping out those Stippling stitches (cuz I broke 10 needles, remember?) I decided to do wavy lines with my walking foot. I think it turned out pretty decent, and it crinkled up soooo pretty!
I did an almost improv style backing to it with the leftover scraps from piecing the top. I LOVE the backing!!!!!
Another up close....
See all that crinkly goodness?
I can't get over it! I just love this quilt. I really do wish I could keep it! But oh well, gotta do what I gotta do I guess. I just hope I did Miss Tula Pink proud! She designed some amazing fabric for this line!

Quilt Stats: Size is roughly 72" x 84" give or take an inch or 2
Fabric: Tula Pink, Nightshade and Kona Coal and Kona Snow
Pieced and Quilted on my home machine

Still not finished

I am so up the creek without a paddle!!! Remember how I said I had a deadline for the Nightshade quilt? Well, yeah, I got it finished finally!!! I got it basted and started quilting it....then things went downhill! I started to do some stippling on it and ended up BREAKING TEN NEEDLES!!!! That has never happened to me before!!!!! I don't know what in the world I was doing wrong, so since I was running out of needles I had to come up with a different plan! I pulled out my handy walking foot and started on the other side of the quilt. Doing wavy lines. Then started unpicking all that stippling. Let me just tell ya, IT TAKES FOREVER!!!! I was hoping and trying my best to get this thing done in time for the Bloggers Quilt Festival, but it didn't happen! :( Oh well, maybe next year!

Here is a pic of one of the needles. Anyone know what I did wrong? One of my lovely friends on IG said that I was moving the fabric too fast and not giving the needle enough time to make a complete stitch. I dunno!!! I've done stippling on quite a few projects and have NEVER had this problem! But this is a huge quilt!
I'm still in the process of unpicking all these dang stitches! Thanks for MIL cuz she's helping me out with it! She likes doing things like that. That same friend on IG said it took ONE hour of unpicking for EVERY 10 min of stitches! UGH! I've been working on unpicking for FOUR days now! Thankfully, the person buying this quilt is being very understanding! But I want it DONE! I have a ton of other projects that I need to be working on!

There is the quilts before I basted them. I had to enroll the help of my hubby and one of his friends to baste this bad boy. I had to use my living room wall!!! It worked though! :)

I love the way it turned out though! (Sorry about the pics, my camera is still broken so all I have is my phone!)

I finished up my Modernista swap and got it in the mail!!!! The pic above is the mini I made for my partner! I really really hope she likes it!
I hope everyone stayed safe during this terrible storm! This is a pic of the doppler radar around my area. It looked like it was going to be bad here but thankfully we didn't get ANYTHING! It rained a little and the wind was kinda strong but as far as the snow coming that they were predicting, didn't get a drop! Now a place about an hour away got around 2 ft!!!! By the doppler it looks like it hit everywhere around me!

Tell me which book would you like to hear about next? I've got 2 new ones that I've bought recently. Sew to Swap or Quilts from The House of Tula Pink? I've started looking through both of them and they both seem pretty good. So whichever one gets the most votes in the comments I will review and have the review ready hopefully by the end of the week! So please leave a comment and tell me which one you'd rather me do first!!!

~Hope y'all are having a great day!~

Some catching up...

Wow! I have been pretty BUSY over the past week. Not only did I get sick (YUCK!) and had to miss quite a bit of work but I have a few DEADLINES coming up REALLY FAST! As in, 2 days for a quilt, my Modernista Swap's deadline is the 29th, plus a special project's deadline is fast approaching! UGH! Where has the time went? Or the better question to ask myself....WHY DO YOU PROCRASTINATE????
I really can't help waiting until the LAST minute to do something. (I'm mainly talking about the quilt) I don't know why, maybe it's the excitement of "Are you gonna make it?" "Can you REALLY do this, Kelie?" Well, I don't know if I'm going to make this one or not, but I'm definately gonna try!
But anywho, I figured I'd let y'all see a little of what I've been up to. (Sorry for the IG pics but my camera is broke, not sure what's wrong with it either! YIKES!!!)

I finally got all the blocks finished for this quilt. I absolutely LOVE this line by Tula Pink! She's amazing!!!

I've got all the blocks sewn into rows and all the rows have at least 1 row attached to it, now I just have to stitch 3 more seams and the top is DONE! The back? Well, I haven't even started it yet, and honestly HAVE NO CLUE what I'm gonna do for it. I'm thinking scrappy! I have to go buy some more fabric (oh darn! :) ) to finish it, but I'm good with that! :) Then of course the whole basting, quilting and binding left. 2 days.....think I can do it? I sware I have the saying from The Little Engine That Could in my head "I think I can I think I can I think I can I think I can" Then I think, "I better I better I better!" This is my first comissioned quilt and I don't want to screw things up!

Onto other projects....
I made this fun little star for my partner...which she said she likes it, I hope so. I still need to bind it though. My husband saw this and now of course wants an entire quilt made "JUST LIKE THIS" LOL, I doubt it! :)

I made my first fabric basket for my partner! I love the way this turned out too!!!
One of the potholders I made for her....

Here is another potholder, view of the front.
And the back view.
I think I've got this swap licked...other than binding that mini and I believe I may make her one more basket, and then it'll be on its way!!! I really hope she likes it and from the comments I've gotten from her on Flikr she does!
Here is my baby concentrating so hard!!! He's stitching up his first little project! I think it's suppost to be a sun?!?!? I love it!
Have I ever told you how much I love Fall in the mountains? Well if I haven't, let me just tell ya, I L-O-V-E it!!!!! It's so gorgeous!!! We went to the park the other day for some long over due family photos, I'm so excited to get them back because I know they are going to be FANTASTIC!!!!
The kids had a blast with the photographer. He was really amazing! I would highly suggest him and his sister to ANYONE who asks!!! In the pic above they are getting ready to throw some leaves at him, and from what he showed me, it's going to be an amazing photo!!!
Well, I'm off to bed, gotta work in a few hours!!!
~Hope y'all are having a great day!!!~
