Catching you up a little

I know it's been a while, I've had a lot of stuff going on over here. First of all, a little over a week ago my home caught on fire! I was very fortunate that it did not do any structure damage though! We just have to replace the water heaters, heat pump, and do some rewiring underneath our house. And the smoke damage isn't too bad. It was still very devastating to me though. But everyone has been very supportive and helpful and for that I am so thankful! It amazes me how nice people are willing to be when someone is in need!
So while staying at the hotel I decided to do some sewing...I finished the top for the Modernista Swap....
This will be a pillow! I hope my Partner LOVES it as much as I do!
I've also joined the 4x5 Bee! Here is the mosaic I am using for my color choices...

A rainbow of colors on a white background....I can't wait to see these blocks start coming in!!!!

On a side note the sign ups for Bee Sew Modern are over and the Bee is full! YAY! I've got the monthly assignments out and everyone in the Bee seems really great! I can't wait to get it started to see what everyone comes up with!
Make it Modern is going great too! Everyone in it is soooo nice and SOOO talented!!! I love it! This month for one of the blocks we are making the X and + block which I've been eyeing over on IG for a while now! I've wanted to make it just to see how hard it is, but just never got around to it....NOW I have the PERFECT excuse! (I just hope its as fun as it looks!!!)
The other block is a really cool looking Half Square Rectangle in pretty purples!!!! My co-host Jamie did a wonderful tutorial for the blocks that you can find here. While you're there tell her HEY! And that I sent you to her AMAZING tutorial!!!!
Let's see....what else have I been into????
Oh yeah, I joined the Fresh Mini Quilt Club hosted by Megan of Canoe Ridge Creations !!! Every month you receive a pattern for a mini quilt! Or if you want a large quilt block! Here is what I made!
I decided to quilt this with straight(ish) lines and I really LOVE the way it turned out! I'm planning on taking this to my FIRST MQG meeting on the 23rd as an example of Modern Quilts. Here is what I did for the back....
I decided to do a little wonky piecing, since this is going to be an example of a Modern Quilt, I LOVE the way the back turned out!! (Honestly I can't decide if I like the front or the back better!) Which do you like better?
The colors were picked out by my 2 babies! Joint efforts are the best!

So, let me tell you guys just a little bit more about the MQG I'm trying to start up! It's in Kingsport, TN for the first meeting. I'm calling it "Tri Cities Modern Quilt Guild" because I'm really hoping to get people from all over the northeast part of TN to the southwest part of VA to come! So if you are in this area holler at me and I'll let you know where it's at! We are going to have SEW MUCH FUN!!!!! The first meeting is going to be held at my LQS called Heavenly Stitches on March 23rd! The owner, Yvonne is helping me advertise and NOT CHARGING ME A DIME! YAY!!!! I'm really excited about it though! I can't wait to see how many people show up!

And in a little under a month, my butt is going to head to ATLANTA GA!!!! Yep, I'm going to THE STASH BASH!!!!! And there are still tickets on sale if any of you are interested in going! Click on the link above to find out all the info! Pretty much, it's going to be a laid back weekend of hanging out with some quilty friends and sewing up anything you'd like! I'm so excited! This is going to be my first trip EVER that I'll be meeting some of my online friends and people that (in my eyes) are celebrities! You should come too! It's going to be SEW MUCH FUN!!!!

~Hope y'all are having a great day!!!~

Glad to hear everyone is OK. We seem to have a lot of fires in NH around this time of year related to wood fires/ chimney fires. So scary.
That scrappy weekend bash sounds like lots of fun.

Your mini is fabulous. Great color choices make the star points stand out and the values are perfect. I have a soft spot for stars so that's probably my favorite side. But the wonky piecing on the back is great with the white framing the boxes. Luck with the new guild!

I'm so sorry to hear about your house. Is there anything you need that I can do? I'm sure I would be devastated as well. Even if there are days I feel like I just want to set fire to the clutter, I do not want my house to actually be on fire. I'm glad you are all OK.
