Please tell me what I'm doing wrong!

Well, haven't gotten a whole lot done the past couple of days. I have all the blocks of my top sewn together, now I'm working on the border (And I don't mean the binding!!!!!) I have to 2 long sides complete so just to add the 2 to the short sides. But of course I'm working non stop and this past weekend was my last 2 days in a row for a couple weeks. BUMMER! Anywho...no one is checking out my blog!
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I'M DOING WRONG ON THIS THING!
Thanks :)

Other crafts

I wanted to share some of the other crafts I make with the blog world. This is my very first diaper wreath(e)? that I made for my best friend. I LOVE IT! Baby was born back at the beginning of Feb and she still hasn't taken it all apart! She has it hanging on her front door!!!

Another view of this one!

And this is BEAUTIFUL Miss Bella! *love her*

And here is the other one I'm almost finished with...these are pretty quick projects but the Momma to be went into early labor w/ complications (ALL IS WELL NOW THOUGH) but she hasn't been able to be out and about to get it so I have been working on other things....

Ok well this pic is the last one I took but it looks better now because I've added more to it!
Hope you like it!!

Pics of my very FIRST QUILT TOP (in progress!)

I found my adapter for my camera!!! YAY!!! Now I get to fill this post with all kinds of pictures of my progress!! WAHOO!! I know y'all are excited...well, maybe not so much as me, but I'm really excited!
This is what I started with. I figure for my first one use cheap stuff so if I mess up I haven't wasted all kinds of money!

Trying to get the full effect! LOL
They were originally 22" X 22" then I washed them and they shrunk down to anywhere between 20"-19" around. So I decided to cut them smaller and ended up cutting them down to 9.5" X 9.5" at this point.

This is my process of making them into Half Square Triangles!!!! (YAY I DID IT!)
Got them all pressed out and realized...."WOW my cutting skills stink!" So back to the cutting mat and this time I did it right!
And my final squares ended up measuring 8.5" X 8.5"
Trying to figure out my layout!
And I finally decided on.......

THIS ONE!

And I think I may have another pic or 2 around here somewhere LOL!

OH yes....had to rip some stitches, and rip some stitches, and did I mention ripping stitches out???
But I finally got all the blocks sewn together! Now I'm working on the rows and then just to figure out my border.....hmmmm I have no clue what to use for a border on this! Any suggestions? I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE SOME COMMENTS!!!!

Oh yeah, here is a pic of my FAVORITE block!

and up close
Thanks for bearing with me...I'll post the finished top once I get to finish it! And more pics to come! LOL I'm "snap happy" with my camera! But at least it's colorful!!!

Pillowcase Challenge Project

I was reading in one of the quilting magazines my mom had given me and I found this article about ConKerr Cancer. They are trying to reach 1 million pillowcases. They deliver them to children with cancer in hospitals around the entire US. The pillowcases help make the kids feel more comfortable and always puts a smile on their face. So I have collected up some fun fabric out of my mom & my mother in law's stashes to make pillowcases. I have volunteered my husband to help. I'm going to try to make at least 50 by....well let's say this time next month. We will be starting on them this weekend (Since I'm off work!!!)
So, if you have some fabric laying around, anything that's pretty, colorful, HAPPY, that you think a child would like you should definately consider making some pillowcases. It's an easy project, doesn't take much fabric at all, and you will be doing a child some good. Makes me feel good just knowing that I'm going to do something I LOVE for someone that needs some extra LOVE!
If you would like to help out, please leave me a comment and let me know how many pillowcases for cancer you are challenging yourself to make!!! I would love to know! And keep me updated on your progress with that goal!
I'll keep you guys updated and post pictures of them as I get them finished up!!!!

P.S. If you want to find a local chapter near you visit their website at www.conkerrcancer.org and click on the help out link and it will tell you all about it!!!!

New

I'm so new to this world, I don't know what to even say. I guess I need to let you know what I'm going to TRY to do.
I am going to try my best to let you guys in on some of my crafts, my life, and me.
So to get started, I'm a 25 y/o married mom. I love to make things...all kinds of things.
I'm in the process of making my first quilt my 4 y/o daughter. I will try to get some pictures up of the process as soon as I have another day off from work.
So, this blog may be a little dull until I get the hang of it all, but if you do hang in here with me I appreciate it!
Thanks for checking me out! :)
