The Intrepid Thread?
Well if you haven't it's this AMAZING online store that is owned by the AMAZING Julie! I absolutely L-O-V-E this store and Julie! She goes ABOVE AND BEYOND with her customer service. I've never experienced that kind of customer service ANYWHERE else! You ask a question, and she's ON IT! I've never EVER had to wait and wait and wait and wait on an answer! Her prices are great, her fabric is top of the line! And her shipping? Well, let's just say we live A LONG WAYS away from each other, and it takes like 3 days to get here EVERY TIME! It's always wrapped up in a cute little package and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS comes with a HANDWRITTEN note from JULIE! She makes me feel like my transaction means something to her. Which to me, is important. I don't want to be dollar signs to someone, I want to be a customer. And she values her customers and you can tell it! (No she did not pay me off to say any of this I PROMISE!!!)
So, the reason I'm telling you about this....

I'm new to quilting, and I was inspired by all the wonderful online quilting tutorials and quilt bloggers. If it wasn't for all the basic quilting tutorials online, I don't know if I would be quilting... I still have a long way to go, but I figure it's one block at a time.
I'm a new follower! Thanks for a chance to win! :)

I love Lucy's Crab Shack! The plaids, bicycles and numbers are perfect fabric to make clothing and quilts for boys. And the fabric is just a must have. :)

I'm a new follower to your blog and the best thing I was taught was how to iron my seams - don't move the iron, this is pressing don't forget. Press the seam flat to set the stitches and then press it open on the right side with the seam folded to one side. This has kept all my patchwork so well lined up and doesn't stretch/move the fabric.

I am now a follower of your blog. I already knew how to sew quite well when I learned how to quilt. What helped me was joining a block of the month club at my local quilt shop with some friends. It was great to learn techniques and then have a quilt top when the year was done. That was four years ago and now I'm obsessed with quilting.

My favorite fabric at Intrepid Thread is LilyBelle. I love the colors and patterns - very rich and scrumpious.

My beginning quilting class that taught me to "chain stitch" and strip sewing were my lifesavers!

Kelie,
Congratulations on your 50th post. I am a new follower to your blog. I do like the bowtie block and am thinking about creating a big quilt with that design.
Thanks for participating in the blog hop.
I do like Julie's intrepid thread.
I follow her on face book.

You asked me about what helped when I first started quilting- mostly taking classes from a lady who has become a friend. The ladies in the early classes have remained friends of mine to this day. We always have fun when we get together.
I began to quilt seriously in 1996- as in that I have made quilts continuously from that time on usually bed quilts. I had quilted a couple of times before that but the reason I stuck to it in 1996 was the comradry found with my quilting friends. I continue to make new friends through quilting both on the internet and locally. May you enjoy quilting for many years to come.
Regards from Western Canada,
Anna

Great blocks! I'm a self taught quilter and one thing that really helped is great tools and books. Thanks for sharing!

I have learned the most from video tutorials.

I liked the "Flock" line the best because I like the colors and it is a modern design yet incorporates nature themes.

What helped me most what working with my grandmother. She had been sewing for 30 years when I came along and she started teaching me when I was little.

I am a Follower and Follower of Julie's too! I love your RWB Blocks! I love the Lillybelle Fabrics! My greatest help when starting quilting were my quilt buddies. They were closeby and helped me square up blocks and showed how to apply binding, etc. They were my mentors.
Thanks for this Great Giveaway!

I'm a new follower too. I started making quilts when I was in elementary school, so back then a lot of the learning was trial and error! I just got into online quilt stuff this last year and I love all the fun patterns and quick piecing methods.

For my first quilt I used an online tutorial/class from Victoriana Quilts and they were so helpful. I'm a follower!

As a beginner myself, I'd have to say I love the inspiration I see on blogs - it gives me something to aspire to, but I couldn't do anything without the great tutorials.

I love the Alpine Wonderland - Poinsettia fabrics because I love anything with flowers. Just don't ask me to pick a color because I love them all!
